Support Groups

Find the support you need
to move on with your life.

My Journey Home has developed a variety of support groups to address the needs of different populations. Without judgment and with the support of their peers, the formerly incarcerated can work through their challenges and share triumphs together.

Transitional Re-integration Program (TRIP)

Peer-to-peer support group designed to help individuals transitioning from prison back to society. Those recently released are able to discuss and resolve issues of being a "free person" with the assistance of their successful peers.
Meeting times: Tuesdays, 7-8pm
Meeting Location: My Journey Home, 255 Bell St, Reno, NV 89503

Friends and Family of Prison Inmates (FAFPI)

Peer-to-peer support group assisting families and friends dealing with the challenges of having a loved one incarcerated in jail or prison, or in the process of re-entering the community.
Meeting times: Tuesdays, 7-8pm
Meeting Location: My Journey Home, 255 Bell St, Reno, NV 89503

Children of Prison Inmates COPI

This program is designed for children with parents in prison. It is a support group facilitated by a trained retired children's social worker to help kids make sense of the devastation in their families.
Every year, this group has a week-long vacation opportunity called Camp Spirit on the picturesque shores of Lake Tahoe at Camp Galilee at no cost to the family.
Meeting times: As needed
Meeting Location: My Journey Home, 255 Bell St, Reno, NV 89503

Drug & Alcohol Support Group

The group is guided by Steven Derrick, LADC, MA, and offers recovering addicts support and guidance in their recovery.

Meeting Location: My Journey Home, 255 Bell St, Reno, NV 89503
